Terrorism is going to be part of our world for years to come. That is the view of many experts.

In the grand scheme of things, the battle is the battle is between the East and the West.

The goal of the Islamic terrorists is not a political state with embassies and borders. The mission is to destroy the West. The price will be that thousands and thousands of innocent people will die in the battle.

The West also sees another price paid. There is a new hatred and suspicion of Muslims. It is showing itself in the rise of hate crimes in the U.S. and Europe. It is also becoming a part of politics in Western countries.

Donald Trump is not the only politician with a message of hate. He has allies across Europe. Resentment of “outsiders” was part of the Brexit vote. One reason to leave the European Union.

A new chapter is starting. Terrorists are attacking some of the nations that helped them grow. Turkey and Saudi Arabia are examples. In the last week, suicide attacks have taken place in the airport in Istanbul and at sites in the Arab nation. The Islamic terrorists are saying that you must not work with the West against us. If you do, we will go after you.

The Islamic State is losing ground in Iraq and Syria. The U.S. is starting to get the information it needs to make strikes on targets in those countries.

There is not enough knowledge to know when and where suicide attacks will take place. They can happen anywhere in the world. The world now knows this.

The number of terrorists fighting like army units is going down. Terrorist leaders say they now are going to build cells of recruits in Western cities.

Western leaders say the battle will be a long one. It will take many unexpected turns.
